Dr. Galeet Dardashti
Dr. Galeet Dardashti is a trailblazing musician and anthropologist of Middle Eastern Jewish culture. She has held professor positions at NYU, JTS, and fellowships at UPenn and Rutgers. She co-created the award-winning podcast, The Nightingale of Iran, about her family’s Persian musical legacy. In her most recent celebrated album, Monajat, she sings and composes around remixed recordings of her famed Iranian grandfather (AKA, The Nightingale of Iran). She is a recipient of multiple fellowships and grants (including two Fulbright Fellowships) and is currently an awardee of the Covenant Foundation’s Signature Grant and an inaugural CANVAS Amplify Grant.
